Henri Matisse ‘Snow Flowers’ (1951) Watercolor and gouache on cut and pasted papers

Matisse is a favourite with Primary school teachers. With his brilliant use of colour and exploration of shape it is clear to see why and children seem to connect with and enjoy looking at his work. This collaborative art work made by Year 2 class stemmed from our previous exploration of leaves and their shapes.
